Stafford Fishery, Carp, Match & Pleasure Waters
Middle Pool can be a very prolific water in the warmer months, and our current record is held by regular angler Stuart Moss who landed 125 carp in a 48hr session back in 2013. Middle Pool is also a very good winter water and is very popular for a few runs in the colder weather.
We have a large orange koi around 26-27lb in Middle Pool and this fish swims around with a bounty on its head. The capture of the koi can win 48hrs free fishing if the lucky angler has pictures and comes into reception.
The lake is around 8 acres in size and is nearly 500 yards long, with widths of over 100 yards in places.
Clay bottom with an old stream bed running down the centre of the lake giving a firmer bottom.
Maximum depth of 9ft with an average of 6ft.
53 pegs with Bivvy staging areas, woodchip based. Ample grass banks to either side of swims provide extra room and a spacious feel.
100's of great Common and Mirror doubles up to 27lb.
All baits and tactics work well on this prolific water with the going boilies being Mainline Cell, Sticky Baits Manilla and Dynamite Monster Tigernut boilies. The Carp love floating baits and large numbers of fish are caught off the surface in the warmer months and believe it or not in winter on nice sunny days.
Surface rigs, Chods, Ronnies. With such a prolific water it's hard to find a rig that doesn't work!
Our on-site tackle shop makes browsing your next bit of kit and picking up bait as simple and convienient as possible.
